Privacy policy
30/04/2025
Congratulations!
You are probably the first — and maybe the only one — to read this page. But that's great: it makes us happy to see that you care about protecting your privacy. In fact, everyone should care about it.
In our organization, we also pay a lot of attention to respecting your privacy. That's why we wanted to inform you about the purposes, methods, and spirit in which we collect or attempt to collect your personal data on this service. And maybe also because the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force across the European Union in 2018, requires us to do so...
We are not specialized lawyers and have decided not to explain all this using the usual legal-technical jargon. We preferred an approach that might be less rigorous and precise, but certainly more understandable and pleasant. At least, that's what we hope. It’s up to you to decide whether you want to continue trusting us and continue this highly rewarding browsing experience on our fantastic online service.
Scope
This privacy policy applies only to the online service you are currently visiting. To learn more about our organization's general privacy policy, you can contact us via the contact form or using the details provided on the website.
A warning to copy-paste experts
The content of this page took several hours of work by our friendly web agency Cyberiance. Just like the graphics and contents of other pages on the site, it is an intellectual work protected by the Intellectual Property Code. Our agency reserves the right to take legal action against anyone violating its rights.
Why do we need to collect your personal data?
Because we love spying on people? No. More seriously, the main reasons we need to collect your personal data are:
- To comply with the legal obligations of any online service host as provided by the Telecommunications Code, mainly for security and anti-hacking purposes.
- To monitor who publishes content on the site and, if the content is illegal, to provide authorized authorities with information to find and properly sanction the wrongdoer.
- To track and analyze website traffic for commercial and technical purposes (page optimization).
- To improve your user experience.
- To enable a relationship between us that we hope will be mutually beneficial.
How do we collect your data?
- Automatically through server logs
- Via forms where you manually enter your data
- Via cookies (a cookie is a small harmless piece of code placed on your device by our service, mainly to recognize you on your next visit).
What is the maximum retention period for your data?
The retention period varies depending on the use of the data:
- Server connection logs: 13 months.
- Connection reports generated from the server logs: 13 months.
- Google Analytics statistics generated by cookies (if applicable): 14 months.
- Personal data collected via a contact form or online registration: 3 years after the end of the commercial relationship.
What kind of data is collected?
The data falls into two categories: private and non-private.
Non-private data includes things like your configuration, browsing preferences (such as language choice), time zone, and city from which you connect: alone, this data does not allow you to be identified.
Private data includes things like your IP address, the server hostname of your internet provider, your identity, your contact information, your employer, or your position within a company. A third party could identify you by exploiting one or more of these pieces of information.
How can I oppose the collection of my personal data?
Data collected directly by the server
You cannot oppose this collection because it corresponds to a legal obligation to contribute to the security and maintenance of the service and the server hosting it.
Data collected via the activation of certain cookies
A cookie is a small computer file, a tracker. It is used to analyze user behavior while visiting a website, reading an email, or using software or a mobile application.
You can oppose the activation of cookies requiring prior consent. This usually happens when the site loads, generally at the bottom of the page. You can change your choice at any time by clicking on the "Manage cookies" link.
Data collected via contact forms or online registration
Let's be serious: just don’t fill in your information!
I refused all cookies, but your site still placed some...
In accordance with CNIL recommendations, navigation cookies, whose sole purpose is to retain your session ID or shopping cart, are not subject to prior consent if the data does not leave the organization in charge of the service.
What happens if I oppose the collection of data?
Regarding Google statistics, for example, nothing. But for services requiring cookie activation or service registration, you may simply not be able to access them.
How can I access, modify, or delete my data?
You can send your request directly to the publication director, either by email or by post to the organization's head office address. Generally, the publication director is also the data controller. For small organizations, it is often the legal representative. His or her name is usually listed on the legal information page.
If you believe, after contacting us, that your data protection rights have not been respected, you can file a complaint with the National Commission on Informatics and Liberty (CNIL).
On the CNIL website: https://www.cnil.fr/
By post: CNIL - 3 Place de Fontenoy - TSA 80715 - 75334 PARIS CEDEX 07
Where is my data hosted?
All data collected directly by our online service is hosted in France by Cyberiance, the agency hosting the service, as well as on the servers hosting the service backups.
As for data collected by Google (such as from Google Analytics, Google reCaptcha, Google Maps, or YouTube cookies), Google does not clearly disclose the storage locations, but it is evident that not all data is stored within the European Union due to their cloud-based infrastructure. That’s why collecting this data requires your prior consent.
The same applies for “share”, “like” buttons and other such features commonly used by GAFAM (Google, Amazon, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft).
Who has access to my data?
Server data and data entered by you
Only members of our organization and those of our technical or marketing providers (especially our preferred web agency and host) have access to the data. We commit not to sell or disclose your data to third parties. Nor will they (at least, they better not!).
Cookies from GAFAM (Google, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft, and others)
If you accept one of these cookies, rest assured: your data will stay between you, the WORLD COMPANY that provided the cookie, and the NSA.
Special case: subscribing to our newsletter
Note that due to the poor quality of European emailing services, our organization may use an American emailing platform. Even if Americans sometimes lie about privacy protection, this leading platform has built its reputation on respecting personal data and is committed to strictly applying the GDPR.
Is all my stored data encrypted?
No, let’s be honest: not all your data is encrypted because the technical solutions do not always exist to do so easily and affordably. However, we systematically encrypt passwords that you entrust to us.
